Lower control arm installation

When you re-install your lower control arms, how do you know where to line the CA as far as the little u-bolts go. Is there only one way they can be installed? I'm concerned I won't know how far back or forward to put them.

Re: Lower control arm installation

I set mine to the wheel base (133" on my longhorn) I used a c-clamp to hold the tape measure, then set to the centerline of the lower ball joint. Don't forget to subtract half of the diameter of the rear axle tube.

Re: Lower control arm installation

It should have a small indent on the CA shaft (see pic) that in turn locates on a nipple on the underside of the crossmember, then just tighten up your u-bolts, and provided your shaft is centered on the CA thats all you need to do.
