4 speed saginaw ?

A freind of mine gave me a 4 speed saginaw out of a old nova. Im going to swap it when i swap in the 250. What all do i have to change? Will the drive shaft work? What about the bell and clutch?

In the spring i think im going to put a BBC in it. I just can have it down for long right now. Its my daily...

Thanks.

Re: 4 speed saginaw ?

I think it's a drop in. I did one before I had my TKO, and I don't remember having any major issues. Measure the length from bellhousing mount to the tailshaft seal and count the splines on the input and output shafts. I used the original bellhousing and clutch assembly, if I recall correctly.---jeff

Cool. I thought it would bolt up like that. The drive shaft is what i really need to know. The old 3 speed is on its way out. I can aford to have it down for to long.

Re: 4 speed saginaw ?

I think chiefrocka mentioned that the 3 on the tree driveshaft was a direct replacement for his 4 speed swap...

Re: 4 speed saginaw ?

Yeah, I don't remember having any trouble doing the swap in mine. It was supposed to be out of a late 60's Nova.
