I want to put a shift kit in my TH350. Can I do this myself, what does the install entail, and how hard is it.

if your thinking of installing one of B&M shift improver kits, its a snap. The instructions are easy to follow and you dont have to tear to much into the transmission. Just basically remove the pan and valve body, remove a few check balls, drill a hole in the new restrictor plate and slap it in with some new gaskets that come with it. Thats basically it in a nutshell. Ive always done it with the tranny bolted on my engine stand never installed. Have heard of it done and people using vaseline to keep the check balls in while installing.

Yeah,it's easy to do with it in the truck.Like Anglesairman said,just a dab will hold the balls in place.Do yourself a favour.Get a drain plug kit from B&M, or a deeper pan with drain plug.
