Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
Today I painted the rear shock mount that I made to replace the stock upper mount that was just worn out. Just too many heavy loads over the years.

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
Nothing today but Friday I made a couple parts for my motor mount relocation project and tacked them together. Tomorrow morning I am going to try to sneak some welding into the other stuff I need to do. Hey if it is too dark to see outside.......

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
Finally did the one wire alternator change after the generator died.that change was worth the effort.
Then started to install the switches for the power windows. What a pain. The switches don't clear the glass, the harness is too short, no instructions etc. finally quit. Had a beer, threw a steak on the BBQ and burned the steak !!!! Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
Sorry to hear that you burned the steak. The rest of it pretty much matched the day I had on my truck, but my steak turned out great

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
Are those the rims they sell in jegs? I think they were called full moon. If so, do they look like chrome that would rust in a couple months? I been really looking for something that style with white walls. But for 110 bucks a rim, it sounds too good to be true.

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
wiring, scratched my head, wired some more, read some electrical prints, wired some more, thought about wiring, did a little wiring. Did I mention I was doing wiring this weekend? I'm a wiring virgin so I am taking my time to avoid getting overwhelmed and frustrated. A couple more wires and the dash can all go back together

Orrie, Maybe I missed it but what's the purpose of the LED's in the ignition hole? Are there others somewhere else?

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
Many (all?) "chrome reverse" & baby moons areChinese made so I wonder how good the chrome is? That said, if I bought some I'd coat the backside with Gibbs oil immediately and wax the front religiously.

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
I just picked this ’57 Panel up last August. I have done several small improvements, but it basically it was ready to drive when I bought it. It is a sweet ride and my buddies and even my wife likes riding in it.
This is my shop truck and I use it for deliveries, which can sometimes be over 150-miles round trip. My plan was to make it into a “silent salesman”, since everyone looks at it as I drive by, by applying signage. Simple plan except I had no idea how to cut vinyl signs. I bought a used cutter, some software and material and just got it done over the weekend. Eventually, the body will get pimped out. Meanwhile, it doesn’t hurt to practice putting stickers on it. |

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
I always guessed a 78 Chevy pickup?
The previous owner had this built for his 16-year old daughter to drive, in CA, and these give a bit of side marker light-effect, for safety. I am just getting used to them. At first I thought "WTF?". :-) Last edited by Highsider; 04-23-2013 at 11:16 AM. |

Agreed. What better way than advertising on a car that people will stare at. I like your thinking.
