thinking about changing exhaust

hey guys, im getting kinda tired of my old glasspack set up on my 83 C10, so im looking for something louder and more aggressive sounding. Ill be the first to say i dont know a lot about exhaust, but so far, this is what im looking into, im wanting a full 3" exhaust, true dual, with an X or H pipe. The "mufflers" im looking into are a full race muffler, with minimal sound dampening from open headers. Heres what im looking into:

Flowmaster Outlaw Race Muffler - 3"I/O, 7"L
http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/sh...e=&orig=15430S

DynaTech Split Flow Race Muffler - 3"I/O, 6"L or 14"L (confused between oval or round)
http://www.dynatechheaders.com/access_splitflow.html

Dynomax Bullet Race Muffler - 3"I/O, 16.5"L
http://www.dynomax.com/mufflers.php?muffler=racebullet

If anyone knows of any other race mufflers with minimal muffling please let me know, like i said i dont know MUCH about exhaust. I want that ALMOST open header sound and volume

Dont forget this exhaust will also be used in conjunction with my 496 BBC stroker with 600+hp in the future once i get it built.

Tell me if any of you guys run/use these mufflers, how you like them and any pros/cons of them. Ive youtubed them and the sound clips all seem the same. I really need to hear them in person.

Re: thinking about changing exhaust

If you're really gonna be pushing more than 500 HP, No less than 1 3/4" primary headers with 3" collectors. Full 3" piping back, through some universal X pipe (magnaflow makes wonderful, stainless ones).. The dynomax bullets are about as close to free flowing without running pure straight pipe as you can get. Not much sound dampening at ALL. If you want something more mellow, Magnaflow "magnapacks" as us Mustang guys call them, are magnaflow's round, straight through mufflers. The 14" ones are about as short as you can get I BELIEVE, not 100% on that. The bullets, maggies, Flowmaster outlaws or regular 10 series, then exiting however you like, tips or no tips, dumps, whatever.

Re: thinking about changing exhaust

I have Sanderson BB8 headers on my 468. They are 1 7/8 primaries with 3" collectors. The exhaust is 2.5". I was going to go with 3" but a buddy of mine did the exhaust at his shop for next to nothing and he doesn't have the capability to do 3".
