Getting ready for swap meet, help me identify please.
Our big fall swap meet is coming up on the 8th. I really haven't brought anything the last couple of years. Mostly just hanging out with the NW Gang.
Swap meets are more fun when you have stuff to sell, so Ive been trying to come up with some things. I had a few things and then I stumbled on a big pile of stuff I had tossed in the box of a parts truck 67 I have in the back of the barn. If you guys could help me with some questions I have I would appreciate it. I think these blue visors are 72, correct? Are they correct for any other year? Are these brown clips rare, worth bringing? I don't even know where I came up with these. I know these arm rests are 71, but are they also correct for 69 and 70? Lastly for now what are these blue vents out of. Ive had 3 blue trucks Ive parted. 67, 71 and a 72.

Re: Getting ready for swap meet, help me identify please.
More questions =)
What are these pulleys off of? These bumper brackets? Are these horns even off of our trucks? How bout these motor mounts? And lastly until I get more pictures sized, looking for an opinion on this manual steering box. It is out of a 69 C10 and accidentally got sent in for a rebuild by Redhat. A power steering one was supposed to go in. I believe it was close to or over 200 bucks (wince). Do you think this box has any value at all, does anyone still use the manual boxes?

The only thing I can add is that the armrests are the same one's I have in my 68.

Re: Getting ready for swap meet, help me identify please.
Horns are from our trucks, should have "h" for high note and "L" for low note. The bumper brackets look to be for 71 -72 , the last set look like 67-70 or 4x4 brackets. The first set of motor stands is a big block set the last set looks like either 6 or sb set, my guess is six. Your vents and visors as you are aware are interchangable, but the color looks like the 72 hawaiian blue. As far as the saddle visor hooks, saddle was popular interior color and should sell. The box might sell but be prepared to go lower than initial price, most are going to change over to ps so it may be a tough sale. Hope some of this helps.

I had a set of 67 arm rests and I think they are smaller, so I guess my black ones are for 68-71.

I've still got my 2 on my 71', but since ownership - I have never had a horn button. What is H & L for? Why the variation?

Re: Getting ready for swap meet, help me identify please.
The sound is the only thing I can deduce. I really dont know why, but the upper end trucks recieved a dual horn set and lower end trucks recieved a single horn???

Re: Getting ready for swap meet, help me identify please.
Looks like your questions have been answered. If those blue visors are '72s someone removed the starting instructions. Didn't '71 have the same blue interior? Doesn't matter. If someone needs that color visor they know what they have. I never see anyone selling them differentiating the year. I think 71 super meant to say 68-71 on the arm rest. But,we all know '72s are different. Those pulleys...I wish I could help. I have a whole tub full of pulleys and had thoughts to post a thread, just you are,to ask others to help identify. Kinda hard to sell if you don't know because unless a buyer can know they are for what they have they're not going to buy. I imagine you'll be asked the diameter and depth, because there will be some pulleys the same diameter but with different depth due to single/double/triple crank pulley configurations. I'll be watching your thread. And,good luck at the swap meet. Don't forget to enjoy yourself (as if I had to say that).

Re: Getting ready for swap meet, help me identify please.
I hate to admit this but the visors actually had a real nice instruction sticker on em. The visors were so filthy from sitting I went after the first coat of grim a little too aggressively and messed up the sticker. At least I know for sure what they are off of now.
Good Idea on pulleys, Ill get the measurements off of them and post em up. I still have a bunch more things go photograph and post up. Mark

Re: Getting ready for swap meet, help me identify please.
The pulley in the top right looks an awful lot like the water pump pulley from my 283. It has a spacer that the fan blade mounts to. Mine sheared off and I went through quite about three others before I found one with the right depth and hole pattern. Mine is about 7" in diameter and about three inches from flat to flat. It's on the truck so hard to measure.
By the way, I still drive a manual steering box. I've got the big steering wheel too. It's ok but I won't run it through the pylons too quick without a lot of effort. Trying to parallel park is fun too.

Re: Getting ready for swap meet, help me identify please.
I might be wrong but I believe the sun visors are from a 67. The clue is the extra "divot" or plastic stud on the plastic retainers. The 68-72 retainers only has one plastic stud. So yes, supposedly 67 cabs had two dimples in the roof for the plastic retainers.

Re: Getting ready for swap meet, help me identify please.
The retainers may be off of a 67, I just stuck them in the pick with the blue visors because of the color. The visors did have the instruction sticker on them before I gave em a good cleaning.
I think you are right about the upper pulleys now that you mention it, they did come off a 67 with the 283. I saved them and the weird alternator bracket (that's around here somewhere lol). I was thinking about using them for a down the road project.

Pulleys
Top left looks like the addon for the crank to run A/C top right looks like a single for something besides our trucks_long water pump Bottom left looks like addon for water pump to run A/C Bottom right looks like water pump double groove Whether any fit 67-72 I don't know but the last almost like what I have on my 250 W/P

Re: Getting ready for swap meet, help me identify please.
All I can do with pulleys is compare them to what's on other trucks. I just never got that familiar

Re: Getting ready for swap meet, help me identify please.
"H" high note, "L" low note. Okay, that makes an "M" (middle) note. Sounds kind of complicated. Maybe "Low" and "High" mounting is right. Maybe it is a combination of the two. Since one is mounted higher and the other mounted lower, they in turn produce a different tone towards forward objects, which would simply be an amplification (in direction) of the horn's sound.
Considered an upgrade perhaps?

Re: Getting ready for swap meet, help me identify please.
Sorry for the (^) , I was when I wrote that. Looked at the horns today, they aren't positioned that different. Maybe the original steering wheel (which I don't have) has a two phase (light and heavy pushing) horn button. Lightly pressed, only one sounds. Heavily pressed, both sound.
