motor mount perch question for you 60-62 guys with 70's crossmembers
I have a 62 c10 that I swapped a 72 front crossmember into. I bought a set of 67-72 motor mount perches from CPP and im aware that the 62 frames are shorter so I will need to make a 1 inch spacer, but my question is which hole on the crossmember does the bottom of the perch go into? It makes sense to go in the front most hole but from the pictures I see on the perches wrote up on persh.com they're all in the rear. I just want to be clear, any pictures will help. Thanks

Re: motor mount perch question for you 60-62 guys with 70's crossmembers
In the '63-'66 trucks the motor mount perches go in the rearward holes, In the '67-'72 trucks with a small block, the motor mount perches went in the forward holes. I did a mockup not long ago, and the '67-'72 small block motor mount perches when in the rear holes, appear to not need a spacer on top of the frame. Although this was with an original '60-'62 front crossmember. I don't know how much if any different the '72 crossmember will be. Here is the pic I took.

Re: motor mount perch question for you 60-62 guys with 70's crossmembers
well shoot, sounds like I might have ordered the wrong motor mount perches. I dont think the 67-72 perches I have will work now. I didnt mess with them to much last night when I pulled them out of the box, but they seem to fit better in the front holes. I will have to measure I guess and see if that will bring the motor to far forward.

Re: motor mount perch question for you 60-62 guys with 70's crossmembers
I did some Google'n and found that it does not matter which hole you put it in front or rear (haha), some use the rear holes with I6 perches and some use the front holes with 67-72 v8 perches. So I guess I will be ok using the front holes and building a 1'' spacer for the top of the frame.
