Hello

Hi everyone! I just found this place and it looks like an excellent source of information. I just picked up a 1972 C20 that has been in the family for the last 20 years. I am starting a restoration. This will be my first restoration ever, so it should be an excellent learning experience.

I am in the process of taking off the box to restore it. It has the wood bed in it. The wood is all rotted out, and there is nothing left to measure the size of the boards by. Where can I find the dimensions of the wood planks for the bed of a 1972 C20?

Thanks

Welcome from Stillwater...are we close?? I am in the early stages of removing a rotten wood floor too, and plan on buying the replacement wood and strips from Bruce Horkey. He is one of the premier wood bed replacement vendors, and is located right here in Windom MN. As of 6 months ago, he didn't have a web site, but you can e-mail him at ...woodandparts@yahoo.com and they will mail you a catalog, or call them ...507-831-5625. I will be glad to answer any questions you may have, from my limited base of knowledge, as will all others on here!!!

May those who love us, love us, any of those who do not love us, may God turn their hearts.
And if God is unable to turn their hearts, may he turn their ankles so we may know them by their limping.

Thanks! Thats exactly the info that I need! I have someone that can make all the boards to the exact dimensions once I give him the information...

Also, thank you for all the welcomes. I am about 50 miles north of the Twin Cities for the guy that was wondering.

Welcome from kansas, these guys know everything. I really think that you could know nothing about these trucks and do a full body off restoration just by asking questions. And they never get tired of answering them or helping you out

Good luck and have fun

David

Gun control, the theory that 110lb. women have the "right" to fistfight with 210lb. rapists.

The reason animal rights activists are more passionate about fur than leather is because it's safer to harrass rich women than bikers...
