Need some help wiring this up please...

Hey all. I am wanting to hook up a floor mounted switch that has to be pressed in order for the engine to start or the horn honks and the engine will not crank. A truck I used to own had this and it worked great. I think it was just a small horn button mounted on the floor under the carpet and you could press it with your foot if you knew the exact location. It was simple and it worked very well. However, I have no idea how to hook something like this up. Anyone have any pointers for me on this one? If I have a diagram of some type, I could do the wiring.

I don't know about the horn honking thing, but you could interupt the power to the wire to the solenoid. A momentary switch is open until you press it, then it becomes a closed circuit. Just wire it between the column and the solenoid wire. You turn the key to start nothing happens until you press the hidden button. Not a bad idea actually.

Thanks for the reply. I am working on refinishing my dash today so I will probably tackle this next weekend. I will post a how-to on it once I get it completed.
