high back bucket seats fit?

I’m going to look at some high back buckets and console tonight or tomorrow., they are out of a 79. All the brackets and hardware are supposed to be with the set. I need to double check about the seat belts. Will they bolt right in mine since it has a bench seat?

I’m not sure I want to put buckets in it but the more I see pickups on the site the more I like the look. I don’t believe the high backs were an option but the low back seats were in 77??

Re: high back bucket seats fit?

I converted my dually to high back buckets, and never looked back. The look and comfort is what I really liked. They're hard to find in ohio. PM sent, Ron.

Re: high back bucket seats fit?

I just converted from a bench to factory reg cab buckets this week. The same seat belt mounting locations are used for both bench and buckets. You are going to need or fab front inner floor perches and a console bracket and the seat belt recepticles from said truck, you can use the same seat belt retracters as your bench.

If youre much over 6' you may want to think about tose highbacks. I just pulled them out of my 78 and put in a bench, but im 6'4" and 260. you may like them some guys do. I may get mine cut down and recovered. That would give more room to lean back. Just something to think about.

Re: high back bucket seats fit?

Have you looked at late model Silverado/Sierra seats (2000+) seats with integral seat belts? I would rather have those for comfort and better seat belts. They might be higher with fabricated mounting brackets, which would be a negative for me, since I am 6'2".

[QUOTE=77BBGMC;4903019.... I don’t believe the high backs were an option but the low back seats were in 77??[/QUOTE]Not that it matters, but my understanding is there were some 77's that got high backs. I do know the 77 was a transition year. There are some features that stopped, some that started, and those that were one year only. Because of this there were some that had low backs, and later ones with high backs.

Well so much for that deal. I figured something was up, guy wouldn’t return my call or texts, what’s up with people! I called today using a different phone and he answered, he sold them the night I was supposed to pick them up. Not too happy but guess I’ll get over it.
