To much rake? What's your all's opion?

I also think it looks pretty good, but it's harder to get the whole "visual effect" in a picture. I say it looks good in the picture, but in person, I may agree with you about it being too "raked".

A 1" drop block would fix the issue and it's easy enough to remove if you don't like it or if it causes any interference issues.

As to where to get a drop block kit. Get in the Zone, man! Auto Zone has drop blocks for leaf springs for ~$15-$20. It's the coil spring trucks that need specific blocks.

I don't recall the website and not in a position to look it up for you at the moment, but if you Google JTR drop blocks - you're looking for a site called 'Jags that Run'. They have solid billet drop blocks, and you can custom build the exact block you want to .5 increments. They also sell longer u bolts and stuff too. Their blocks won't crack and break like some of the more 'hollow' ones out there. They have pinion shims too.

I've made these before with a 3/8" allen cap screw to index the rearend housing,... and another hole on the other side of the block to index on the leaf spring pin.
They can also be made out of thick wall square tubing.

If you don't have a C-Notch and add a block you will bottom out all the time. I think it looks good just like it is.

Hey guy's thanks for all the ideals on the blocks and for the link to the site. I found last night a set of lowering shackles with the 1"-2" adjustable drop for 45.00 with free shipping from a website and went ahead and got a C-notch kit while I was at it also free shipping total of 130.00 for both so that way I will have two drop options to go with and I will also have the original set also If I want to change back if I don't like. The frame is only about 2" from the axle now so I will need to run a C-notch anyway I think and for sure with more drop. I hope the company is OK it is Classic Performance Parts? Is it a good company to deal with? Hope so! Thanks again everybody! Robert the newbie

I had a very similar problem with my 64 shortwide and found that a 2 inch block lower in the back made it set just about even.

FWIW I like the stance of your truck as is. I'm with a few of the of the others and think just a little bit o' rake is good. I hope my stance turns out as good as yours when I get my rear flip kit installed with the lowering springs up front.

Looking good Robert! Classic Performance Parts is a good outfit. You might want to slow down a bit until you get those rare Rally 7's on, you can raise or lower the front a bit depending on the tires you choose. Either way it was a pleasure talking to you and if you are ever in my neck of the woods you are always welcome in my home.

Might give you an idea ..

R- 255/70 (bald, and about the same height as a 235/75) 8" wheels, 5" drop springs with nothing in the bed right now. Going lower once I get my new wheels, Notch and PB conversion, drop trailing arms, etc.

F- 215/65 (too small) 6.5" wheels, 2.5" spindles, one turn cut out of the factory SB springs by PO. Big block, no front sheet metal obviously, battery, etc. Would likely be a little lower once it's all back together.

Again, the stance will completely change soon as I have 20"s on the way prob mid Nov. Current wheels and tires are just rollers for now.

Thanks brad yes I do sometimes get in a hurry I see what I want and that is it! I just bought the 215/70's last week so that is what I am running and the 235's are also new so the same. I loaded the bed with cinder blocks and "dropped" it down 2" and then 1" to see how that looked I think that another 1" with the C-notch will do it. Lord I hope!!! Hope to receive my rallies soon can't wait to get them on! Here is a picture with 2" more "cinder block drop" I think this looks better but frame is down on axle will have to add C-notch for sure! I've got a Rake to my 72, but in YOUR case,
I would say 1" to a 1-1/2" Lowering Block would be PERFECT!!!

I really like the look with the 2" block drop....cinder block, that is!!

I would split the difference and go 1.5".
