CB Radio
I want to install a CB in my '72. Can I ask anyone who has one to post photos of their installation location? I guess this is one install that's either customized or just mounted to the underside of the dash. I was thinking of the cab roof. I'm kinda leery about how to securely mount it. So too, how to run the power & antenna cables. Thanks

Re: CB Radio
I put in a custom headliner and mounted my CB there. The wiring can be a little tricky but is do able. See my build thread for pictures (post #500) http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...318544&page=20 There’s some additional information throughout the build thread that deals with the CB you will just have to look thru the thread to find them (smile)

Re: CB Radio
Here's a couple shots of an overhead mount. Two small holes, and using the regular bracket. The wires run across the cab behind the passenger visor, and behind the front lip of the door gasket. These wires could be brought up inside the "A" pillar, but another hole would have had to be drilled to let them out behind the radio. No one notices the wires because the visor is seldom down. The power wire runs up the same trace, but should probably come up the drivers side to prevent any EMI. So far it works good for the intent. I can't boom out like I would in my work truck, but keeping tabs on a mile or two radius works fine. The antennae wire comes down inside the gasket, across the floor under the mat, under the seat, through a very well sealed hole on the rear floor of the cab, then up the forward side of the headache board.

Re: CB Radio
Thanks guys. Really nice work. Slomotion, your idea is more my speed. I think I'll set mine up similar to yours. Besides, yours is one of the trucks on my slide show screensaver at work. I like that brush guard, and the truck color is a nice choice. Thanks again
