Storing A Bench Seat
I have a bench seat that I took out of my truck that I want to store but I dont know if the seat back is removable .It does not fold forward so my question is can it be taken apart for easy storage until I can decide its fate ?If I can take it apart it will be easy to store it out of my way ,if not it may have to go away.

They do come apart but if I remember correctly, you would have to remove a few hog rings to pull back the upholstery to get to the bolt.

Just thought of something that might help. I have the bench seat from my wrecker stored in my garage right now and it's standing up on one end instead of in the normal space hogging position. Maybe that will work out better for you for space?

Thats how mine is right now as well (standing up on one end). Only advantage IMO to breaking it down would be if you could store it overhead that way or on a shelf to get it off the floor.

I have a bench seat from my '83 in my basement that the kids use as a couch to play video games.

I was hoping to put mine up in the shop attic or on a shelf out of the way but turned up on one end will work until I decide its fate.I seem to try to keep too much of my leftover parts ,maybe it will be the first large part to go away.

You can take a bolt out of the brackets on each side of the seat. Just pull the material out of the way a bit. This will allow you to fold the seat. I did this to mine in the truck so I could use the area behind the seat as storage and access it easily.
