Do you have pics of the silver alloy faced ones? I can't do carbon fiber...

Not yet but should have one with Alloy and Blue here soon. When I do I will take more pictures.

This is roughly what they will look like though as far as the face color goes.

The plug goes to the control unit.

J_Knight, by default, no, they have been know to allow customization though for an upcharge.

Man, I would like black face with orange needle too! I do like the idea of the alloy face though. That price is still kinda high though, would like to see an install.

How difficult is the install and will it support dual tanks with one gas guage?

Re: 1973-87(91) Analog Gauges coming

Once I get the one in it will be installed and documented on my forum and a link attached in the store to the article. It will be the same difficulty as installing an Digital system.

As for the price, If you put together a Autometer setup, you would be about $600 in just the guages, $100 for wiring and then mounting them, you are already at around $750 and these come with a limited lifetime warranty. Keep in mind if you have a login on my store discounts are available. I have to know who you are and a link to your User ID on the forum though.

Eighty-6, don't know what the meaning of your question is. The factory cluster only has one gas gauge?? So this won't work any differently...

Re: 1973-87(91) Analog Gauges coming

Is there any way to get a speedometer that doesn't go to 160mph? I think a 120 mph or even a 100 mph one would be good (Then again I have a 4x4 so I would never think about doing over 100 anyways lol)

They are going to come out with what you see, I don't think they will be modifying the system any to alter the ranges.

Do you know if they have plans on making other matching gauges like the boost, fuel pressure, etc or are they leaving it all up to the message center?

Can you get them with pink face, lime green needles, and roman numerals? Seriously guys, these are some cool gauges at a fair price but they don't build them to your personal specs.

Re: 1973-87(91) Analog Gauges coming

I have seen these gauges in person in a early camaro they work great and can be read easy. The price is the best part its cheaper then using aftermarket gauge panel and gauges and looks kinda factory the way they fit.Email them i think they could do custom colors never hurts to ask.

Thanks, I'll have to call them to see if they are willing to modify the face black without carbon fiber.

Really, do you not think these are legitimate questions by someone willing to drop $1000 on a gauge cluster. I agree these are awesome to say the least but I would like to know all my options before I buy.

Dakota has a Custom Shop that will build any (currently digital) system starting at $1100, they currently do not have this option on their VHX systems that I am aware of. They are still working on a huge backlog of offering all their current digital models as analog starting with the most popular.

With that said, what I am advertising is their out of the box solution, so options would have to be approved and priced by them. I can ask, but don't be surprised if they say no. Right when they started these I asked them to make me one in analog for the 73-87 that would be setup identical to the Vac/Tach 73-87 offering. The price at that time (Nov of last year) was $1800...

Thanks for the clarification, this VHX set up is light years ahead of our old clusters and I'm hoping that they plan on expanding there options in the future.

It talks about automatic dimming at night but can it still be dimmed like a regular cluster? that was always my problem with the led bulb swap, otherwise nice product glad it has fueland tach for once
