Factory Stretched Suburban?

Never seen one of these before. Its a 66 suburban with an extra couple feet or so. What would it have been used for? Havnt ever seen one of these for civilian use.

Re: Factory Stretched Suburban?

looks like a standard 1 ton panel with a school bus conversion. Ive been wainting for a 1 ton for a few years. looked at several. 1 school bus was around here for awhile lots of rust. was a springfield rural route bus. one that had been a forestry service rig with a 6" raised roof and a bulkhead seperating the last 4 feet for saws and gas. and one last week thats a pretty beat but not much rust would have pulled the trigger on it if it would have driven home. Ive since cooled off on it. they are long 10' bed. seen a lifted 4x4 once it was huge
