2wd vs 4wd frame
Is there a difference between a 1971-72 2wd and 4wd 3/4 ton frame?

Re: 2wd vs 4wd frame
There is a bend in the frame over the rear axle on a 2X4.

Re: 2wd vs 4wd frame
Thanks guys.
The front of my frame is tweaked about an 1 1/2" to the drivers side from the front bumper to the front axle on my 1971 3/4 ton 4wd. I took it to a body shop today and they said the back of the frame was tweaked too. Diagonally, from the back of the frame to midway up the frame, it is about 3/16" off. The shop owner wasn't there, only the frame machine operator but I told him it probably came from the factory that much out! He said it will be really difficult to correct the front with the back being out. He told me it may be easier to find a new frame. No doubt they know more than me and I am sure it is more complicated than I understand, but it appears they just don't want to do the work. It is a rolling chassis with no cab or bed. I would love to hear from any frame machine operators out there. Should I wait for a 3/4 ton 4wd frame or find a different shop |
