Very Art Deco looking, I like it! Looks like the fabulous elegant cars of the thirties and forties. Now we would just need someone to photoshop the look for our series.

The first time I saw steps replaced with extended fenders was on the Kopper Kart back in the late 50’s. Lenthening the fender would probably not be too much work for a skilled fabricator with enough enthusiasm:

Re: my custom idea.come true, look wooow

thats not just stretched, check out the "lean" on the front of the fender. Took some time with a welder and hammer for sure.

The problem for me is that the fenders just end, and they had to sheetmetal the back side. I think it would be a bit cooler if they ended them and built the tailgate to fit the contour.

Re: my custom idea.come true, look wooow

Somebody put a TON of work into that truck. To section one of those trucks is a nightmare because all the surfaces are round. Chopping the top on a 55-59 is tough, also. They even made the body lines on the cab and rear fenders line up. The back of the cab was slanted to match the angle on the leading edge of the rear fenders. I have to agree with the comments on the rear taillights and the abrupt end on the inside of the rear fenders. I would have slanted the tailgate forward to match the rest of the angles, but that's just me.

I still think that truck is awesome, though. I wonder if the chassis work is decent?

Re: my custom idea.come true, look wooow

Believe it or not, I too can dig a tasty custom. Agreed, the rear fender/gate treatment is the let down on an otherwise nicely done job. Perhaps a little Frizzling is in order with those fenders. See pics below of fellow board member Frizzle Fry's job (in progress). I don't know the current status of this build.

Frizzle Fry has some mad fab skills. That truck keeps getting pushed out for other projects, but I hope he finishes it soon. The way he re-arched the wells on that truck is perfect.

Re: my custom idea.come true, look wooow

^Frizzle had the right idea, using a second fender to wrap inside. I NEED to see that truck get done.
