Re: WHat did you get done 11/27/11 turkey day edition

Well Thursday at too much and slept

Friday put up the christmas lights

Saturday rained so i worked on the Tuned Port Injection setup i am installing on the truck in two weeks.

Today was cold outside but i toughed it out.
1. Got the Heater Controller working. Would not actuate to anything except heater. Read several threads on here and removed the cover off the duct in the middle. Dirt Dobber mud fell out. What do you know, it works again.
2. Put my refinished door panels back in. SEM'ed them black and re valoured the pad around the door handles.
3. Put the missing bed bolt in that i have had on my desk for 2 months.
4. Made a new ground strap for the fire wall to engine.
5. Got the door pin on the pass side working again. Now the light comes on when i open the door.

Not a bad day

Re: WHat did you get done 11/27/11 turkey day edition

Before winter is finally here, I decided to replace my belts and high beam lights.

I am sort of had 2nd thoughts the other day; wondering if I should have held out for a diesel truck. I would love to have the mpg that the 6.2 diesel offers. The 454 is a beast of a motor, but I also like diesels.

Which would be cheaper...would it be more realistic to convert to the diesel motor, or should I just look at trading the entire truck?

I installed my heater core and got my heater working. I know that Texas winters arent much, but I could not go all winter without heat.

Re: WHat did you get done 11/27/11 turkey day edition

On Thursday I cleaned the shop at my house so I could get back in the door of it took all morning and half the afternoon

On Friday I mowed the yard to chop up all the leaves still need to burn around the puond but they are to wet now after that I washed the mower and put it up for winter. Then I washed the truck and cleaned out the bed. I then washed all the interior trim that I had removed previously with hot water and soap and hung it all up to paint.

Saturday had to go to my wifes families fro Turkey Day left at 5am and got home at 10pm so I did not get anything done.

Today I went down to the and found one salamander heater not working properly and the other out of fuel so had to run in to town and get diesel for it. Then I wiped down all the vinyl with vinyl cleaner and painted the pieces of interior with color bond saddle colored paint all the pieces looked pretty good when i got done I will probably put them in some time this week. Then about 2 o'clock had to go to a freind's little girls birthday party so that shot the rest of the day.

Has anybody put sound deadening behind the door panels and does it help much.

I replaced both front inner axle seals on my K20 (WHAT A PAIN!), as well as adjusted shifter and transfer case linkage to compensate for the body lift. No more rolling out of park, and no more getting stuck between 2HI and 4HI on the t-case!

Re: WHat did you get done 11/27/11 turkey day edition

Thursday- My brother and I installed the shortened column. I also re ran some wiring under the hood.

Friday- had to work. Miami needed their frozen foods.

Saturday- headed east to Daytona Beach for the Turkey Rod Run. Found a cheap set of headers that were in need of a little loving. Didn't see any of the car show as it took all day to wander the swap meet.

Sunday- gave the headers a little loving with some por15 rust prep, and then my brother sprayed them with their dark grey exhaust manifold paint.

Thanks, I used a 3.5" u-bend, cut and welded an offset on it, then welded a support to bolt to the fender well.

I got a good deal on a new hitch, itīs from a Jeep Cherokee. So I fabricated a mount for it, I think it turned out quite good. Now I hope that my bed wood turns up during the week so I can finish up the bed.
