is there an easy way to ungunk up a carb?
We'll i should know not to leave fuel in the carb for 9 months without running it but apparently i forgot that lesson and did it anyway. well to make a long short, my 63 will start and run for about 10 secs and then quit, the fuelpump pressure is ok and the bowl is filling with fuel but no run. also sprayed starting fluid in carb and kan keep it running that way so i don't think its a spark issue. could the jets have plugged and if so is there a way to clean them?

there is some stuff calle Mechanic in a bottle you can get it a home depo just drain the carb of the old fuel pour this stuff in the bowl and let it sit for a day or so it will soften the gunk used it on my generator in a motorhome and it worked great

A couple bottles of fuel injector cleaner works pretty well too. I use it on the little gensets I have when the carb bowls get a little water in them.

The best way is to take the carb apart and use liberal amounts of Chemtool and a torch tip cleaner for the jets.
