Dually rear swap question?
Anyone know how late of a gm dually rear will work in our trucks? I'm not worried about changing hangers either.
I found a good deal on a 98 rear. |

Re: Dually rear swap question?
You do not say whether you are doing a wide track dually pickup setup or using the narrower cab and chassis rear end.
Either way you will have to modify hangers or perches unless you already have a 30 series truck I would look for a 73-87(91 in Crewcab)rear end If you use the dually pickup one you get a rear sway bar as well There are lots around for not much money....you can usually find a whole truck for 500.00 the 98 can be made to fit but wheel studs and brake lines are metric |

Re: Dually rear swap question?
I have wondered this as well because i want to upgrade to disc brakes since no one makes a disc brake conversion for the dually 14 bolts... (to my knowledge anyways)

Re: Dually rear swap question?
off the top of my head if I remember right the c&c rear is 48" from backing plate to backing plate and the the std rear is 52 from bp to bp I'll put a tap to both in the morning and I think where you get the different spring perch offsets is the 1/2t spring hangers on the frame are nerrower
and as far as doing a diskbrake conver there is a wright up on pirate4x4 on whats needed and how to do it on the cheep
