I scored more bucket seats

I just picked up two pair of buckets and a decent console, and have questions. The white seats are out of a 1970 Jimmy but I think they are 71-72 style ( any help on if they are really 69-70 style would be great ) the others I believe are 73-76? style. The glove box door didn't have a spid, but had the how to use the 4 wheel drive sticker and lock out hub sticker in the place of the spid so it was no help. The brown seats are in pretty good shape. The drivers side white seat has some bottom foam issues, but the passenger side is great. Any help with identifying these would be awesome.

Also there is a pic of the flip bracket for the brown seats. Is this correct for 73 up or did someone put this on to use in an older truck?

Re: I scored more bucket seats

The Jimmy was a 1970 Custom. It was in very sad shape, i.e. the whole tub was rust, and the top was cracked in lots of places. It served life as a plow truck in the harsh Iowa winters. It is Dark blue with a white top. It also had white door panels as well as white visors. Black column and dash pad. The back seat was dark saddle but it wasn't bolted down so I think it may have just been thrown in there.

Re: I scored more bucket seats

I think your white seats are 69-70. It looks like the y have been recovered maybe. Here are some 69-70 and 71-72 seats. 69-70 seat covers have this extra seam (red arrows) and different scroll pattern. The only difference besides the covers are the top corners of the seat backs.

Re: I scored more bucket seats

i think those dark brown and plaid sets are from a dodge in the late 70's

i've picked up a number of these over the years when i see them for $10 or so and the upholstery guy can make them into chevy clones for a fraction of what people are payin for the "factory correct" stuff

Thanks for the info. They must have been recovered? But they are the ones I was looking for. I bought a set of 71-72 awhile back that I was going to make work but now I have these so we'll see what I do with all of the others.

Every time I see Lubbock, Texas I think of the old Budweiser radio commercials from back in the late 90's with the lizards doing the public service announcments for Texas road signs. " Louie says 10 miiiiiiles to Lubbuck "

Re: I scored more bucket seats

I think the brown buckets are out of a mid to late 70's Blazer. I had a 76 chevy 1/2 ton pickup with a bench seat that was identical to your buckets. Joseph

Good to know Lubbock is remembered for something other than prairie dog town or Buddy Holly, even if it is just a lizard.

They have chevy mounts underneith. It looks identical on the underside to the 71-72 as far as mounting hole locations.

Do the Dodge seats have the same mounting brackets?
