It has a 69-70 grille and it looks like a stick not an auto. Be careful of possible scam.

Re: Is it worth it? Should i add to my collection

There seems to be some discrepancies between the pictures and the poor description of the truck, for example the wrong year grille, cloth seat when it looks to be Houndstooth and vinyl, as well as the auto vs manual tranny.

The description itself; "Roll Up Window", "Power steering wheel", and "Drive good" screams scam or at least english is not their first language.... Tread lightly and make sure to see the truck and documentation before any money is exchanged....

Let us know how it turns out, could be a cool truck if legit.

I think that truck came from Ohio. I talked to the guy several weeks ago and I asked if the spid was in the glovebox and he did not know. Im in Greenwood so I did not call him back. Go look at it and let us know what happens.

Yeah, I am not one to talk bad about anyone. But this guy was clueless about the truck.

I asked about the grill. Told him it was from a differant year model. He told well i dont know anything about that, im pretty sure its from a 71....

I asked more about the motor and transmission, I told him its listed as an automatic, he told me no its a 4 speed with granny low.

I asked about the motor and he said it ran great and didnt "use" any oil but it did have a few leaks.

I asked him if the drivetrain was original or if the 350 had been rebuilt or replaced and got the i dont know and have no clue about it....

I asked him about the A/C. He told me oh yeah its got it and its great. But it doesnt work. Has a leak somewhere or needs some new hoses or something. Not really sure. Wouldnt take much to get it working, but yeah it works great!! (HUH???) I was thinking make up your mind, does it work or not!!!

As for the bad english, well I dont think thats a scam...I talked to him on the phone 3 times....Not to make fun of Mississippians, (I'm from Kentucky/Texas, so not much better), but this guy was a rod and reel short of a fishing trip.......

So, even though Raymond is only a short 20 miles from me, I dont think ill be going to take a look at it. I would rather buy a complete rusted piece of crap from a guy that knew his truck, than buy a truck that the owner knows nothing about and you can tell up front has been bastardized.....

To me, that truck is no more than a $2,000 truck because of its unknowns. And thats if it runs....

Re: Is it worth it? Should i add to my collection

I took a bunch of pictures of the truck two days ago. It is a 50 footer. I didn't understand why it has been on the little car lot so long with $3500 on the window. It scared me off pretty quick, quite a bit of severe rust and shotty body work. I was wondering if it had been underwater during Katrina. After looking it over for 30 mnutes or so I considered it a parts truck. It sure does look good from the road side.

It is a standard shift (two shifters in the floor). The interior is nice with vinyl/houndstooh insert seat. 71/72 steering wheel. It has new carpet on the floor, after seeing the trhrough and through rust on many panels, I would be scared to pull the carpet up.

No SPID on glove box door.

Im glad you did the leg work for me!

He told me that truck had very little rust! Only the rocker panels were bad!!! No other rust was visable, just some bubbles in the paint!

Re: Is it worth it? Should i add to my collection

The drivers side rocker is almost completely gone. The passenger door has see thorough rust the whole width of the door. Bondo over rust in many places. The leaf springs in the rear look fused and are flaking. It looks to me like it's been in the salt somwhere.

In defense of the old C20 workhorse, I have seen some trucks rescued on this sight that I would have never touched, because I don't have the money or space. So, it is a rusty piece of clay waiting to be molded.
