Neutral start switch override

While I recognize the reason this switch is in place, the switch in my '85 GMC has failed twice, once while I was on a 4wd outing. Here's my solution:

There are two wires leading to the switch, purple and yellow. I put an inline tap on each wire, terminating with an (unconnected) male/female quick connect fitting. Now if the switch fails I can just reach under the dash, connect the two wires and good to go. Could have been more tidy and connected the terminals to a switch but it's an emergency override so I just went with the connectors.

Re: Neutral start switch override

The PO put a fuse in the factory plus so that it would start without pressing in the clutch.
