Re: color code for light green

YES!!!! I shot some paint over the weekend and it came as GM Truck 66-69 Light Green 503/533. That was the valspar brand . Looks as you show, maybe a little darker, but definetly "Seafoam" describes it best. Very nice. \
Thanks to all of you for the help!

Re: color code for light green

503 Light Green has to be one of my favorite colors on these trucks. I'm not really sure why, but I love the way it looks. Its right up there with Ochre

Re: color code for light green

Some help would be greatly appreciated! Attempting to match my paint code without success. Thought it was 503 but had the tailgate painted and it isn't even close. Attached are some pics, what do you all think the color is?

I'll try to get a pic with the new tailgate up shortly. It was so far off, I had to put the old tailgate back on.

Re: color code for light green

Sorry Guys that it took me so long to respond with the pics, We decided to go ahead and take the bed off and intall a wood bed kit. As you can see the repainted tailgate on the right has more of a mint green color and it is 503 code.

Re: color code for light green

Boy, just enough of a diff for sure. I was told that I should be sure and paint the entire truck from one mix , as the colors can vary from mix to mix.. I know the blue that goes in this is very dark and just a dribble or two onw way or another on the scales could make a difference, I often wonder how accurate the scales are and do they ever have to calibrate them.. I know that digitals can realy fool you on measurements as they can be one side or other from clicking over to the next number and whatever the resolution on the scale is your potential error , only doubled.

See the latest Classic Truck article on the 68 CST C-10 . It has mention of this discussion for the color.

Re: color code for light green

my '72 short step was a us forestry truck . im in the process of restoring it. i want to paint it the origial color and it took me quite a bit of work to find the paint code . found this page http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcod...WE5763&rows=50 after calling both martin senour and ppg and three part/body supply stores later , one was finaly able to make sense of the dupont number . im changing cabs ,so the panel is from the vin tag/jam .
