fan shroud help...
I am in the process of a 5.3 swap on my '71 GMC and am coming down to what fan shroud to use. I have looked through the archives and cam up with some dimensions, but none of them seem to be close to what I have. I have a measurement from the front of the radiator core to the backside of the fan blade of 7". It seems as if the only one that will come close is the 4wd shroud, but I would have to shorten. What is everyone else using on their swaps. Is there a chance someone could take some measurements of their 4wd shrouds from the front of the core to the end of shroud. I have a big block shroud here but it is WAY to short!!!
Any help is appreciated!! Mike

Re: fan shroud help...
The last 3 swaps I've done, I just used small block fan shrouds and they fit like they were made for them, although I did trim the one.I'm building now.

Re: fan shroud help...
I think the standard 2WD non AC shroud might be what you need. Can't recall the exact measurement but I think it might be around 5+ inches deep.
