2wd to 4wd conversion
This is how it all started.
This is my find a semi clean 72 c20 I bought it on the spot for $2500. The 72 k10 frame I found locally for $200, I stuffed a lockered D60 and lockered 14bt under the frame for good measure. The body being set on the new foundation. Awaiting a new exhaust system and final tweaking. This is how it sits today. It has a stock 350/NV4500/NP208/4in lift & 35x12.50 tires.4.10 gears. I'm planning a SB406 in the future.

Re: 2wd to 4wd conversion
Nice looking truck, I wish I could come across a good 72 K chassis, I know of one local but the guy won't let it go! Getting ready to alter a 78 K/10 chassis for mine.

Re: 2wd to 4wd conversion
Thanks Rob. I had a 71 short box I put a 80 suburban frame under. I belive I cut 18 " out of the middle and some off the back I dont remember how much. The Suburban frame's are the ones to use because they stay flat longer under the cab. The truck frames curve up right under the cab You have to cut the floor board a bunch to get it to work.

Re: 2wd to 4wd conversion
I'm gonna move a straight section from under the bed to the cab area, already have the 78 and it's free, the welding and fab work isn't a problem, I had found a 69 K/10 and bought but the rear frame was ate up with rust when I pulled the bed off, hopefully by spring I'll have the frame done and ready for the body. Between work and my last semester at college my time seems to get away from me LOL!

Re: 2wd to 4wd conversion
Hey Rob what are you planning to put in your truck for a transmission and transfer case. I pillaged a 86 gmc for a hydraulic clutch set up and np208 to go with my nv4500.

Re: 2wd to 4wd conversion
The 78 currently has a TH400 and np208, but if it he hasn't sold it, my dad has a sm465 and np205 I hope to use!
