Re: VIN numbers on cab??

California goes by the frame number. I have a 73 frame just waiting for the next schmuck to big block an nice smog truck and have to give it away cause it won't smog out.

Switch cabs and get a vin verification and they will get another vin on the body from CHP

Re: VIN numbers on cab??

I'd call the DMV first, before you spend the cash.
If you're the clear owner of both and the donor is going to get scrapped, it's easier just to swap the tags around. It's illegal, but it's easier

this site cannot condone recommending any illegal activity. You need to contact your state motor vehicles and or police department. In some instances they will issue the vehicle a brand new VIN and that will become the official VIN and the title will reflect that the truck is a put together or combination of several vehicles. Again contact your state police and motor vehicles for the correct procedure in your area
