Headers
Hey guys I'm new to the board and I know this question has been asked several times over. I'm about to change engines in my 70 truck and wanted your opinions, suggestions, ect. on what type of shorty or 3/4 length headers you liked best or have personally used. My truck has a 4/6 drop, so please keep this in mind when you post a reply. My name is Tim. GREAT BOARD! P.S. I will try to post some pis of truck later. THANKS!

Hooker super comps here. Mine isn't lowered, but with the crappy weak coils, it sags at least 3 inches.
When it bottoms out, the bump stops hit the a-arm before the headers hit the ground. Been driving it like this for 2 1/2 years now, and still haven't smacked the headers yet. Welcome to the board Tim. |

i have Hooker comps on my longhorn with a 3 " drop on the front. They hang approx 2 1/4" below the frame rails.....I could "dump" the nose a couple more inches, & I doubt that they would drag. If you arent planning to bag the truck & set it up to "lay the rails", there is a bunch more low/midrange tork to be had with a full lenght header. Good luck, crazyL

Welcome from North Texas. I have a thread on the Suspension board dealing with this...look for "Lowering with Headers."
