Lowering front with only drop springs= rough ride?
I have a 74 c10 that I wanna do a budget drop job on and wanted to know if all I used were 2" or 3" drop springs in the front will it ride pretty rough? Will use flip kit for the rear. Thought about a 3-5 drop this way.

its not so ruff as it is unbalanced. your going to wear the inside of your tires out fast. I did it for my first budget drop. best bet is a drop spindle and maybe one coil cut from the front springs.try just the spindles first if you need lower then cut one or lower springs.

Not if you get it aligned after its done. I agree that the preferred route is spindles first and springs second, but it's not mandatory.
If your looking for drop on the cheap, I would cut 1/2 to 1 coil off the stock spring. Do no use excessive heat, and remember that 1 coil is approximately a 2" drop.

When just cutting the coils sometimes there's not enough bolt to align the upper a-arm out. This can be cured with longer bolts. Don't forget to remove the bump stops and maybe the pads.

Re: Lowering front with only drop springs= rough ride?
am i the only one that had to take half my spacers out on the upper A arm and add a swaybar to keep the OUTSIDE of the tires from getting eaten?
maybe i just take corners to hard with my truck like im driving a corvette or something?....
