New to me-'86 dually

Merry Christmas to me. Found a truck and now it's mine.

str8axle55, you asked so here they are. I'd do more, but I seem to be having issues with Firefox, Photobucket, and dial-up.

Re: New to me-'86 dually

Yes AC. If it works ?
Seat is broke down, one of the PO's was a big boy.
Looker?
up close it looks worse. Both rear fenders are busted up and tailgate is long gone.

Lower it! IMO, it would loose it's "charm" lol. But then again, I refused to put a lift on my K-20. kennyhammond, it has the "old school" look/stance I like. I do remember looking at one new and drooling.

I'll be changing the bad master cylinder hopefully tomorrow. Then to track down "gremlins" bed lights didn't work, dual tanks don't switch, defrost won't switch...
Maybe I'll start de-smogging soon. Just for giggles, I tossed 5 pennies into the engine compartment, not one hit the engine, just stuff around it.

BTW the red is NOT orig. in chipped spots, I can see lt. blue under it.

Re: New to me-'86 dually

It does seem nice and solid. Floor and rockers look mint. Some rust on cab corners and bedside inside one of the fender flares. Definitely not from the snow belt. My '73 had an old rag bondo'd in for an inner cab corner.lol

I did read on the internet (so you KNOW it's fact) That GM needed that much engine to haul the smog equipment.

Yes some issues, but after making my '73 road legal, these are MINOR. All I'm looking to do is make it a good, rugged driver. I'm planning, after the new year, to have it on the road. No big rush this close to Christmas.

Besides, in SC there is no inspection, so I'm going through everything and checking. Just have to wait for the rain to stop.

Hehehe- 3 days before X-mas and it's 65 and raining.
