Somebody please help!!
I got a 69 C10 and the bed is all rotted out. A guy not too far from my house has two stepside beds in his yard for 73-86. Would the earlier models fenders bolt up to the newer bed sides? are the mounting holes the same? pretty much what i want to do if you cant tell already is get that bed and put the period correct fenders on it but i wasnt sure if this was possible? somebody please help me asap because the guy with the beds supposedly has somebody picking them up on sunday so if this can work then i need to act fast. thanks in advance.

Re: Somebody please help!!
Over all the beds are the sme from 1954-1987, but I agree that 67-72 fenders wont bolt directly to a 73-87 bed.

Re: Somebody please help!!
Someone did this a few years back. Seems like there is an issue with steps also. Either had to add a filler or cut some off...

Re: Somebody please help!!
Hey Ace, by the pics, isn't your truck a Long Bed? I saw the pics in the other thread but its hard to tell? If its a short, it will fit, but the step fenders will not be right, you'll have to do some work. I tried this on mine. it looked like crap.

Re: Somebody please help!!
The 73+ stepper fenders are squared off and the 67-72 front fenders are rounded off .. just something to consider.

Re: Somebody please help!!
I understand the fenders are different that wasn't my concern though and the PO said it had a stepside on before which he then swapped for his other truck

Re: Somebody please help!!
I think it was palf70step that did the later 70's bed and fender conversion. There was metelwork involved in the step area if I remember right. I couldn't find it through search.

Re: Somebody please help!!
I've got it saved in my favorites, but as I recall, a while back, something in the address line changed, & the older articles won't work with the addresses saved the way they were. I can't remember what little change in the address lines it takes to make the old links work correctly now.
If anybody can help me with getting the old link address right into the "new" format, then it'll work. This was the "old" address as I saved it, but it won't work now: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=123833 ........................................... FIXED NOW !!!!!!!!!!!! link works. If anybody cares: In the (old) address there was a number in the address line after the php & the ? mark. Take that out, & the old link address now works. Last edited by 68shortstep; 12-29-2011 at 04:47 PM. Reason: fix link |

Re: Somebody please help!!
I never quite caught if your truck is a long bed or short, so follow the appropriate link to view our tech article on bedside interchangeability:
(long bed) http://www.mar-k.com/bed_side_interchange_long_gm.html (short bed) http://www.mar-k.com/bed_side_interchange_gm.html This should help answer your question. Best of luck with your build.

Re: Somebody please help!!
The bed in the pictures doesn't look bad, is it just the wood floor that is gone? If so it's fairly easy to put a new wood floor in.
