dumb question, and an easy one at that

I keep seeing people mention it, but I cant figure out what it is. In this case, google wasn't even helpful...

What does it mean to Z a chassis??

It is done to allow the vehicle to be lower or provide more clearance. Cut the frame just forward of the firewall and raise it up the desired amount. Add bracing and weld it all back up. Then repeat the process by the same amount on the front frame horns. This moves the control arms up relative to the bottom of the frame.

Z ing is a old school low cost drop where alot of people now instead of cutting up there frames are running porterbuilt crossmembers instead of z ing

Much safer alternatives, but if done right is still effective.
