Previous owner had put too large of an oil filter which was touching the block hugger headers on the Pontiac 400 big block - I was envisioning them burning a hole in it and dumping my oil on the highway.

I had to push in the filter just to get the filter wrench around it and then installed a shorter one that does not touch the bottom of the headers. What is normally a half hour job including oil change took me 2 hours.

I now will have peace of mind in the spring when I drive it. Next I need to change out some suspect coolant hoses and the fuel filter and then will be good to go this spring once I get a seat installed.
