My 1959 Chevy Apache 3600
I introduced myself in the new member section and finally got around to taking some pictures of my truck. They're pretty self explanatory. I plan on removing the S6 and implanting a Chevy 454 with TH400. The 454 needs to be taken apart and cleaned up obviously. Since it's a 3/4 ton, I may replace the rear end with a dually. Also thought about flatbedding it, but that's still up in the air. As far as color scheme, you're pretty much looking at it. I like the patina and the "Sanford & Son" look to this truck. I've already got a replacement hood and two doors. This will be a S-L-O-W project, which is why I'm just posting a few pictures here, and not in the project section.

I agree also. The only two things I would do to the appearance would be to lose those mirrors and put in some patina matching headlight bezels. Nobody will suspect that there is a big block lurking under the hood.

I hope so too. Just haven't decided yet if that's the way I want to go. I've got all winter to ponder that. Damn I hate winter!! |

There is something pretty cool about having a old truck that looks.... well old. Thats why I'm doing a crappy job painting mine

Agree. Just don't know how I'm going to approach the truck after the patch panels are in place. I don't plan on painting the truck, but will have to do something about those panels.

Re: My 1959 Chevy Apache 3600
good looking truck.
but i think you've gone past patina. what you have there is rust. once you start fixing rust it sort of snow balls from there. your truck is at the point where you fix the rust or let it go. |

I sure as heck aren't going to let it go. I certainly plan on making repairs. I'll just have to make decisions on the finish as I go...

Nice,
I think theres a lot you could do with it. Toss it up in the photochop section and let wizards run with it. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: My 1959 Chevy Apache 3600
Thanks. My plans for now are to replace the rearend with a 1-ton dually and flatbed the thing. I'm in the process of cleaning up the chevy 454 that's going to be powering this pig.
