70 c10 pulley issues what did I do wrong

Hey I'm new to the board I recently put a used 350 in my 70 I lost my original water pump pulley and crankshaft pulley I replaced them with new ones ordered from summit racing I have a short water pump, air, and power steering. With everything installed it seems that the water pump pulley is rubbing the water pump and wobbles under acceleration, everything seems tight but it still wobbles, I would appreciate any ideas also alt is on the drivers side and the air is on the passenger side if it makes a difference

Re: 70 c10 pulley issues what did I do wrong

I had nothing but trouble until I got a matching set from a factory short water pump truck. A truck that I was pretty sure was previously unmolested.
My issue was that at certain rpms a vibration would get going in the alternator bracket and break it. That sucks because it was before my AC so with no other belt I lost not only my alternator but also my water pump.

Keep an eye on the parts board for a fresh part-out and request both crank and water pump pulley. Best money I ever spent.

Did you buy chrome steel pulleys? The aftermarket chrome steel pulleys are bad to warp and wobble. Check out Alan Grove components. They have original style steel pulleys.

Welcome to the board!

I'd buy another set of oem pulleys from the classifieds.
Member teeitup should have some.

Welcome from North Texas! Nice truck! I like the green and white two-tone and the full wheel covers.

Thanks another thing I like about this one compare to the other 2 I had is the in bed tool box on the passenger side. The Green and White took a little while to grow on me.

My last 2 were a 72 GMC with a 402
and a 69 short wide
