Showtrucks???????
How many here actually show their trucks? I show my truck but don't really consider it a show truck when I compare it to a real show truck. Driven trucks can be shown. There is pretty much difference in a trailered truck and one like mine. Do you show your truck, or go to cruises?

Despite driving yours, Randy, you still keep yours clean enough to eat off the diffs. A truck has to be really clean and then maintained lovingly for that.
I may get mine to the cruise-ins or the local-yokel shows after he's back together (if this D@mn rain will ever stop and let me), but I don't have the time or the money to put into making him even marginally "show-ready." Maybe after I become rich and famous

I've taken mine to a few shows, but it's not super duper nice. I drive it. There are a few minor imperfections...paint chips on front, minor rust spots on wheels, etc. I did get a "top 10" and a first place at the two shows I've been to.

I'm like you guys. I show my truck occasionally and take it to local cruises. It's basically a nice clean truck that had most of the restoration done about 5-6 years ago and needs some areas "re-addressed". Here in Maryland these trucks have not caught on as show trucks like they have elsewhere. I don't know why. I have seen a few really nice ones though.

I show my truck even though it is not up to the standards as my 65 and 66 SS Impalas are. I drive the truck and go for cruises with it. I like driven cars/trucks and I am really not into trailer queens. Minor dings, chips and inperfections don't bother me. I really like trucks like Mudders as he really drives his truck!
The worst critical remarks that I have ever gotten were from people that did not have a restored vehicle much less have ever restored one. Folks that restore vehicles understand and appreciate the work that goes into them. I like looking at trucks, no matter the condition! Jim |
