New Old Truck!

Just got this one from my buddy. It sat in his garage for years. Between my prodding and offering I finally got it! Got an AMAZING deal and his wife got the garage space back!!

Re: New Old Truck!

The plan is to get it cleaned up, lowered and painted. Working on a pretty tight budget. I pulled the seat out and I need to get the tank out to clean it. The brakes aren't too great so they may be the first big project. My wife just wants the "Gang Green Machine" to stop being an eyesore!

Re: New Old Truck!

I got what was left of the siding off but I can't get the front bumper off to get the last two pieces. Any tips? I am also wondering if this is a stock 72 grille. There are turn signals in the bumper but I am not sure what the spaces in the grille are for...

Siding? As far as the bumper is concerned it should be a simple matter of removing the bolts and the thing darn near falling off. Now getting the bolts loose can be a chore. PB Blaster once a day for a couple days might do it. If not, bust out the angle grinder and cut-off wheel and neuter them bolts (cut the nuts off!). BTW, I'm talking about the bolts that attach the brackets to the frame, not the chrome capped ones that attach the bumper to the brackets.
The grill is definately a stock style (maybe not the original though)....I'd say a PO cut the grill to mount some fog lights.
