Sanding / Stripping. / Blasting a 64-66 grill
I've been searching and searching.......
Anyone have tips on sanding the grill grids?

Best to use a sand blaster, a small one at that.

I used a wire wheel on mine the other day. Worked very well.

If you can find someone that knows how to blast sheet metal, I would have the whole thing blasted.

It would depend on if it has any rust or not. You can have it dipped, and it will remove everything. If you don't have any rust, you could use baking soda or walnut shells. If you use the later and have rust, you need to mix it with something abrasive, so that it will cut the rust (such as glass bead media). The good about the soda or walnut shells, is it will not build heat & warp the metal.
