Re: got a Question???
I know they section or pancake the crossmember or z the frame. But have you looked at a dropmember? It bolts in a 87 back truck besides welded in the notches for the rack and pinion does the same job as both with a lot less work.

Re: got a Question???
Yes, people have done it and it works. Keep in mind that you're supposed to move up the steering components(steering box and idler arm) an equal amount as well to avoid bump steer.

Re: got a Question???
Speaking of bump steer, has anyone done any measurements on how bad bump steer was on these trucks from the factory?

Re: got a Question???
I have seen a few on these trucks in person. and the owners all say the same thing, it drives exactly like it did before, as long as you dont go any further than a 1.5 inch pancake.

Re: got a Question???
I can't wait to see Nate's mild dropmember, even though I will still be running the extreme drop myself.

Re: got a Question???
A dropmember ain't cheap but its well worth it,You get rack and pinion the wheels are centered in the wheel wells and its narrowed just enough you can tuck any wheel size you could want.Or you want cheaper scotts hot rod shop on here has a bolt in ifs that will lay frame.here http://www.scottshotrods.com/6387clip.asp
