Ashtray mods?

Looking for ideas to make my ashtray, or lack there of, a little more useful. My project is highly modified, but ive strived to keep the look overall, especially inside stock "looking". I do need to find a place to mount an EGT and boost gauge, so i considered that, or my accuair controller, or some kind of hidden message center for fault lights.
Any pics of modified ashtrays would be helpful in getting the ideas rolling.

Not sure which dash you have, but here’s my 1960 GMC. I had my son machine up 3 panels that simulate the stock tin versions. The ashtray became a switch panel, the heater panel mounts an aircraft clock, and the radio block off plate holds the heater and fog light switches.

Re: Ashtray mods?

Its a 65'. Want to conceal whatever i put there behind the ashtray. so that i can pull out the ashtray for access to whatever i go with. If i have not ashtray, then i would want it to be flush at least. nothing protruding from the dash.
