door latch, need quick fix
So I get in the truck shut the door and the door wont latch, open the door and the spring for the latch falls out, now my door won't shut.
So the bolt and screws holding the latch on are getting their treatment of kroil before I take it apart. Aside from buying a new latch and waiting 2 weeks for delivery can I put the spring back in? The search tells me I need a new latch but...... Also does anyone have a diagram of the latch? many thanks |

Re: door latch, need quick fix
I believe I had the same experience as you are describing. My latch came apart and the door would not catch. I took the latch mechanism out and was able to reassemble it and smash the pin to mushroom the end and hold it all back together - just like it was new - and better than it was before. Took 30 minutes. You could try that.
