Re: No Limit Spy Photos
Upgrade - Motor Mount truss for standard Wide Ride IFS
As we are constantly searching to improve the Wide Ride line, The new Truss mount system will be available on all Wide-Ride-3 IFS kits. Series 3 IFS platforms fit 55-59 chevy trucks (also 48-72 "F" trucks). The new Truss mounts can be welded in before shipping, or loose for cutom applications. The Truss plate itself is a one-size-fits-all unit, alllowing for several different engines and setbacks, based on the modular bolt-on upper mounts. SBC, BBC, LSX, (and "F" motors) are all available. The Truss offers increased strength for hi-performance applications, as well as lighter weight than typical 'tower' mounts. The truss plates are ported for fuel and brake lines, and the rack and pinion ports are on both sides, for our RHD customers.

Re: No Limit Spy Photos
Length of the Shockwave will have an impact, but the limiting factor is still the axle/frame rail clearance. Aired out the rocker will be appx 3" off the ground with a 28" tire. At this point the OETrialing arm and trans crossmembers are 1" above the dirt.

Re: No Limit Spy Photos
The height of mine is the same as the rear rail kit. I did raise my rails a little more but it was for how I did the sway bar and panhard bar.

Re: No Limit Spy Photos
You would have to put a extension on both side if you centered it. Then the steering shaft would probably be in the engine. You keep it all the way to the left for clearance.

hey rob thats what i need for my 71 c10 lwb dedicated drag truck (no street), you us racers are all about weight and weight is King. Can that top mount rear sway bar be mounted while the bed is on the truck.?
Also do people do their C-notches with the bed on..?

Re: No Limit Spy Photos
Rob,
I'm building my 72 c10 short box to lay frame. Will the rear rail kit allow me to achieve this or will I bottom out before laying out? Thanks in advance. I'm just checking my options and I really like the rear rail set-up, But It appears to not be what I will need.

BigDaddyV
With the raised rail kit and a 26 inch tall tire the frame will be 1.75 inches off the ground roughly. If you put in a small c notch you could get there. What rear suspension are you thinking? Smitty |

Re: No Limit Spy Photos
I'm sure I could make it work, and I'm no stranger to Fabrication. I may go that route....
But then again, I just realized you said 26" tire.... I won't run anything smaller that 29" on the rear so it may be a problem...
