Re: Forever project "The Beast"

Sorry guys, ive been a little lax on my posts. Life has been extremely busy lately. The wife is now currently 40 weeks plus 5 days pregnant Which mean all kinds of stuff to do around the house. But I know how much everyone likes pic so here are a few. First a few of the family hanging in the shop with me. Mostly just cleaning up. And a few of the truck how she sits now.

Re: Forever project "The Beast"

It was a busy end of the week, not truck related but family related. My wife and I welcomed our second daughter into the world on friday afternoon this gives me a total of three kids. Her name is Kendall, and she weighs 6lb-14oz. Both her and Mom are healthy and back home already.

Thanks, how many will that be for you? I actually specifically bought the Blazer because a family doesn't fit in reg cab pickup very well

This will be number 2, we have a girl who is almost 3 and this one cooking now is a boy . I would love a 2wd blazer but they are like bigfoot around here. I have seen one at a car show and thats it. Of course there were half a dozen first gen 302 Z28 Camaros but good luck finding a Blazer. Maybe I should go out to california and find one of those pristine original $1500 models

Future congrats on the boy! Tons of fun. Funny you should mention the pristine California trucks. I had one of our fellow board members inform me that he could buy several Blazers in much better condition than mine, for a 1/4 of the price I turned down for mine

So maybe you should track him down

Totally understand. I'm trying to get as much done on my truck. Once my Porterbuilt order gets here its time to start on my wife's 56 and I am going to start a blazer conversion for myself. I will still be keeping eye out for updates.

Nothing crazy, just a new motor, tranny and interior. I've been stockpiling for a little while.

Thanks for the compliments! Do you have a build thread going?
A buddy of mine bought a 35' Chevy pickup from the Estevan area, here's what it looks like now. Still in mockup stage though.

Just came across your build thread, don't know how I missed it! I love your truck, and it's nice to see another dropmember guy running a Big Block Anything new with the truck?

Re: Forever project "The Beast"

Nothing new really. Unfortunately the build is actually living up to its title. Forever.

It is currently serving duty as a parts storage rack. I'm hoping to get back at it this summer once the upgrades are done to the Blazer.

Re: Forever project "The Beast"

Well, finally gonna work on this turd! I moved it over into the middle of the shop, and mocked up the body a bit better.

It currently has a PB body drop kit installed. In the interest of simplicity and maybe actually driving it before I freakin retire, I'm gonna remove the kit and sell it. The pic below is with some shims installed to see what it would look like without the body drop. I still love it.

I will try and keep the thread updated if anyone is interested.
