The only shield available for pickup was the transfer case shield, which was RPO NY7.
Naturally, that's for V10, 20 and 30 only. The Suburban/Blazers also had a shield available for their rear mount fuel tanks (RPO NY1) and that was available for eithe 2wd or 4wd. K

The fuel tank shields do not seem to be available by '87. I think by that time a plastic shield was included as base.

The 86 I have still has the steel gas tank shield setup. The 88 has the full length plastic shields that still carried the old rpo codes on the build sheet.

Re: no skid plates? what rpo was it? and how many came with it
The plastic fuel tank skid plates where designed to rust tanks out prematurely. I remove them. Less chance you'll need to replace a crushed tank than one rusted from having the skid plate (if that's what you call apiece of plastic). I used to let all my friends buy theirs through my account at the dealership to get my discount. I bought at least 20 of those things and the price steadily climbed with each purchase. A real money maker those skid plates proved to be.

Do you know the part number to the transfer case skid plate? or the gas tank ones?
I mainly need that transfer case one some dealers may still have one. |

The plastic shields trap dirt and moisture between the tank and plastic and causes the tank to rust

The steel gas tank skid plates like Dooley mentioned are a much better design. They're open on the sides and have a slight upside down V shape so any mud/dirt that gets in between the tank & plate is easy to wash out. |
