Will an 88-98 fuel pump fit in a 71-2 blazer tank??

I have searched quite a bit and haven't found anything on this, any advice would be appreciated.

I am using a 1997 vortec 5.7 drivetrain and was thinking maybe the fuel pump/float assembly from my donor tahoe would fit into a blazer tank just as the float assembly does. Is this assumption correct? or is it a no go ? I have seen a lot of people use an external EFI pump but im looking for an economical way to use what I have without being ghetto.

My vehicle is a 67c10 short bed, Thanks in advance
