Tach not working correctly after removing gauges

I removed my gauges and cleaned them resembled the gauges. I checked to make sure it is getting 12v. The tach worked before I took it apart. I works now but not accurately before it shows 200rpm but before when it worked it was reading 600rpm. So could the gauge have just crapped out and not reading correctly? I have checked all connection. Any input would be greatly appricated

Re: Tach not working correctly after removing gauges

Check the grounds. Did the tach needle fall off or get bumped out of position?

Re: Tach not working correctly after removing gauges

It sounds like a ground problem. These tachs need a really good ground to work properly!
