More Exhaust Questions
Any opinions on Corsa mufflers?
72 LWB. - Flowmaster 40's or 50's? It's an 8' box and I'd have the pipes coming out from behind the rear tires. Can the system from LMC be made to utilize the Flowmasters, or would I be better off just having the muffler shop do their own thing? I'd like a cross-over pipe installed also. Thanks |

They sound great on C5 vettes....if all of Corsa's systems sound similar or carry the same distinctive sound, I would say they sound "higher" pitched...almost sports car sounding....not the typical deep american V8 sound....more european...just my 2 pennies...

If you go with the Flows then I'd go 50's, the 40's are super loud, unless that's what you're going for. I have the 40's and plan on changing over to the 50's.

The 40's are pretty loud....i have Delta Flow 40's on my truck and they are still really loud, but i love it .
I would go with the 50's for a mellower quieter tone....i haven't heard Corsa mufflers, but they are really expensive......so they better sound good And yes, i would have a muffler shop make the system for you. Just drop it off and pick it up later in the day with the new system installed.....my system cost me $250 for 2.5" allumized pipe and the flowmasters. I don't have tailpipes though....proably would have cost me ~300 with the tailpipes.

I had 66 Coronet Hemi mufflers on my 72 3/4 ton 396....they were quiet inside and loud enough to be pleasing outside...I am thinking about those for my car.
