LMC carries stock seat rebuild kits. Any upholstery shop can provide foam use an electric knife to shape.

The seats used padding not foam, but foam works. here is the LMC link for seat rebuild kits: http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/ca/full.aspx?Page=77

If you run foam without the padding under it you should cover the springs with burlap or what ever the upholstery shops are using now to keep the springs from eating the foam.

Re: cant find replacement foam for stock seat?

I had my seat reupholstered, and it was in pretty good shape to start with... the shop retained the original burlap/white cotton fill

Re: cant find replacement foam for stock seat?

page 76 of the LMC link above shows the foam kit........I am wondering how thick it needs to be if you bought from other source? 2" I am guessing?
Not to hijack but, I have been trying to find the smaller horizontal springs that connect all the vertical coils at the top. They were all broken/rusted on my bench............any body know what be the more modern application might be vs. the little springs? Thanks.

Re: cant find replacement foam for stock seat?

cut all the springs out and pan the frame. Build up the shape with foam and cover.

best option IMO

Most auto upholsterers can provide the newest and most advanced foams. memory foam etc for your build and at a reasonable cost, they can shape the foam as well
