AN fittings? Where to buy?
Where do you guys purchase your stainless braided hose and AN fittings at? Local or online? I would like to make sure i have the right parts, i know what size fittings i need, but i dont know how that transfers over to AN numbers.

Re: AN fittings? Where to buy?
each number in AN size is equal to 1/16th of an inch. 6 AN is the same as 3/8". I got my hose from summit and a hydraulic shop should have the fittings, I think they called them something other than AN. (FWIW "AN" means army navy)

I always heard, dont mix and match. Pick a brand and stick with one or you may have issues...

Re: AN fittings? Where to buy?
not being able to interchange fittings does not make sense to me. fairly sure they're all made to the same mil spec. however i stick with same brand hose ends to same brand hose.

Re: AN fittings? Where to buy?
Also if you don't like the braided look, aeroquip makes a "pushlok" hose and fittings which I like. The hose is much easier to cut and is black. It does not have the steel brad and is NHRA approved.

Anyone using this for fuel lines? Does ethanol effect it?

Re: AN fittings? Where to buy?
The flares not sealing is usually from mixing A/N and others. Most flare fittings are one of two flare angles but even the ones with the same angles may have some differences in them.Depth of fitting/flare may not allow the flare to seal is the most common one I have run across.IIRC the flare angles are generally 45* and 37.5* but I've been wrong before(Or so "ol' what'ser name"says).

Re: AN fittings? Where to buy?
If I remember correctly All MIL-SPEC AN fittings are 37 degrees. Hydraulic fittings come in both 37 and 45 degree fittings.

Re: AN fittings? Where to buy?
AN = JIC in the hydraulic world and they are a 37 degree flare. Hose and fitting sales them in a swag-loc also...No flaring needed. This is what I will be using for fuel and air lines. Also JIC is much cheaper than AN, but you dont get all the pretty colors if thats what your into?
