Re: Tail Light Wire Conduit
I have a 55, 2nd series.
3200 Long Bed. I just put on some new Tail lights. I picked up the flexible metal conduit to run the wires thru but I cant figure out how that attach to the tail light bucket.

Re: Tail Light Wire Conduit
The ones that Speedway sells have what appear to be nuts on each end to hold them in place. http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Braide...duit,3038.html
If the conduit is straight with no way to fasten it in place I would imagine that it is made so that it can be pushed through a grommet on each end to hold it in place. That may or may not hold it perfectly in place though. |

To hold it in place through the grouments go to a auto glass store and pick up a tube of there windshield RTV and place this on each end to KEEP it there! When that RTV hardens it will be there as long as the conduit. I have found this RTV to be good "fix" for many things that you want to stay in place for a long time !! Be careful where you put it !!!!

Re: Tail Light Wire Conduit
I made my own out of SS tubing. I just flared the one end of the tubing and used a grommet to hold it in place. I wanted a very clean look with minimal cost.
I also drilled through the bedside and used a thick finishing washer (which I used silicone to hold it in place) to complete the look. Here are some pics. Marc

Re: Tail Light Wire Conduit
That is one slick looking setup Youngrodder. Thanks for sharing the photo. The button head machine screws and bullet caps really finish it off too.

Re: Tail Light Wire Conduit
That is a sweet set up.
So the answer to my original question, I need to fogure it out by taking the tail light appart and make sure I seal it up properly with a good quality sealant. And I cant forget to us grommets so the metal to metal contact is eliminated. Looks like I got another weekend project ahaead of me. thanks everyone for your input.
